Bringing the Cold Weather Down South Y'all (Feb. 2, 2010)

Hello Lady Privateer Friends, Family and Fans…

Let me start off by apologizing to everyone down south. I think I may have brought the cold weather with me. It would be record low temperatures with snow the time I decide to attend school down South! We just came from a road trip to Tennessee and Kentucky where there was at least five inches of snow and I am almost positive it doesn't usually snow like this in the South. Actually it was the first time in 14 years that it snowed in Kentucky.

Next, I must admit this unfortunate truth…

It has taken me 5 months, 1 week, and 5 days, but “y'all” has become part of my vocabulary. Did I really just publically admit that? Don't jump to any conclusions though; I haven't completely lost my mind yet. I haven't started using the word “ain't” or saying “Who Dat.” I must say though, it is a great deal of fun coming from Boston which is a sports orientated city to New Orleans which carries their sports teams, especially the Saints, in such a high regard. Everyone here is definitely looking forward to the Superbowl!

As for basketball, it's getting down to the wire. We have seven games left and then we enter the conference tournament. This week starts a three game home stretch in which we hope to secure our second conference win. This last week was filled with lots of traveling to play Middle Tennessee and then back to New Orleans for Thursday afternoon and Friday classes and then to Western Kentucky on Saturday for a game on Sunday afternoon. Needless to say we had Monday off from practice for a much needed rest.

Today, we watched some game film and critiqued our own play and then watched South Alabama in preparation for our game tomorrow night.

Until Next Time….

GO BIG BLUE!!
