Getting to Know Cross Country's Becky Callaway

Each Sunday during the 2013-14 academic year, a student-athlete from around the UNO athletic department will be featured. This week's featured student-athlete is cross country sophomore Becky Callaway.

Q: Do you have a nickname and how did you get that nickname?
A: Becky. No one calls me Rebecca except my dad.
 
Q: What is your favorite food and why do you like that food?
 A: I like anything that's Italian.
 
Q: How many years have you been doing your sport?
A: I've done competitive swimming since I was 6, but I started running once I got to UNO.
 
Q: If your team/you win the Southland Conference, the first thing you will do is?
A: I would take a nap.
 
Q: What is your favorite building at UNO?
A: Kirshman Hall is my favorite building, but I never have classes there because I'm biology major.
 
Q: What is your best non-athletic talent?
A: I can play 6 instruments including piano, guitar, and ukulele. I also have taught piano lessons for 5 years.
 
Q: What is your favorite book and why?
 A: My favorite book is "The Count of Monte Cristo"
 
Q: What magazines or websites do you subscribe to?
A: Sport Diver and Runners World
 
Q: What is your favorite sport?
A: My favorite sport is baseball!! Texas Rangers!!
 
Q: What is your favorite sports team?
A: The Texas Rangers. I used to live near Arlington when I was younger and my family and I would go to the games all the time. Not to mention that they're the best baseball team ever.
 
Q: Where is your favorite vacation spot?
A: Hawaii is the best vacation spot!
 
Q: What is your Favorite candy?
A: Hands down, Skittles
 
Q: Are you a cat or dog person?
A: I love dogs! Not to mention that cats hate me L
 
Q: What's your favorite color?
A: My favorite color is mint Green.
 
Q: Are you a Playstation, Xbox, or Wii fan?
A: Dance games on the Xbox Kinect
 
Q: Do you prefer Pinkberry, Marble Slab, Orange Leaf, or Tutti Frutti?
A: Pinkberry is the best
Q: What is your favorite board game?
A: Monopoly. Everybody can play with it.
 
Q: Which one you use the most: Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram?
 A: Facebook
 
Q: Do you have a favorite T.V. show and why do you like that show?
A: "Sherlock" is my favorite T.V. show, because I am fascinated by the intelligence used to solve crimes.
 
Q: What are your favorite hobbies?
A: Playing my acoustic guitar and coaching swimming.
 
Q: If you could be a superhero who would you be?
A: I would be Batgirl.
 
Q: What is your favorite movie trilogy?
A: Indiana Jones! (Because that last one that claims to be part of the series totally isn't)

A: Walk-Ons
 
Q: If you could be any Disney cartoon who would it be?
A: Rapunzel from Tangled, I love her long blonde hair!

A: What is Pepsi?

A: Zooey Deschanel

A: Fall is my favorite season, especially in New Orleans.

A: Popcorn is the way to go!

A: The bears are funny and I like to watch them in the zoo.
