Sans opened up play by defeating Gulf South Conference foe Jacqualine March of West Florida 6-2, 6-3 before coming back the next day to dispatch Palm Beach Atlantic's Natalia Trotter 7-5, 6-2 in the 'Round of 32'. The run concluded for Sans in the 'Round of 16', where she fell 6-1, 6-1 to Lynn's Iona Ivan.
Through the opening tournament, Sans is 2-1 on the season in singles' play for the squad's lone record above .500.
