What is NIL?

At the University of New Orleans, we are dedicated to empowering our student-athletes to thrive both on and off the field. The NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) initiative allows student-athletes to monetize their personal brands through endorsements and partnerships, beyond school-funded scholarships and benefits, in compliance with institutional policies, state regulations, and NCAA guidelines.

Through our valued partnerships with the Big Blue Collective, the Privteer Exchange, Influxer, and Campus Ink, Privateers Athletics is committed to providing a robust platform for our student-athletes. Our goal is to make the University of New Orleans a premier destination for developing personal brands and maximizing NIL opportunities.


What is the Big Blue Collective?

The Big Blue Collective is a third-party initiative designed to directly financially benefit either an individual student athlete (contract involved) or an entire sport at the discretion of the contributor and coach's collaboration.  Opportunities for student-athletes may involve representing the contributor's company/relationship by providing public appearances, autographed signage, social media posts, etc. per the request of the booster.

What is the Privateer Exchange?
The Privateer Exchange enlists student-athletes to be sought out by individuals, businesses, etc, looking to partner with a specific student athlete/team for a mutually beneficial endorsement. Opportunities for student athlete/team, in exchange for financial compensation and/or product/service trade, can range from a one-time promotional appearance to a season long endorsement, and much more in between.

What is Influxer?
Influxer serves as an "Athlete Locker" for fans to purchase custom merchandise that features a student athlete's jersey number, name, sport, etc.  Student athletes directly benefit by receiving a portion of the profits.

What is Campus Ink?
Campus Ink is a merchandise platform built for students & athletes providing apparel for universities, fraternities & sororities. Student-athletes may sign up to create and market their own merchandise, showcasing their design skills while earning a profit on sales.
