ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY Integral to UNO’s focus on integrity is athletics compliance – following the rules of the NCAA and Southland Conference. Athletics compliance is a responsibility shared among all Privateers Athletics stakeholders, including UNO fans, coaches, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, and other representatives of the University. It is the responsibility of the Privateers Athletics Compliance Office to direct and manage UNO’s efforts to educate its stakeholders and to monitor compliance regarding NCAA and Southland Conference rules. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS Educate UNO coaches, administrators, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, and boosters of NCAA and Southland Conference rules and regulations. Guide to UNO coaches, administrators, student-athletes, prospective student-athletes, and boosters by providing accurate interpretations of NCAA and Southland Conference rules and assisting these groups in remaining compliant. Monitor activities across all NCAA Bylaws including (but not limited to) recruiting, eligibility certification, financial aid, amateurism, benefits, and playing and practice season limitations to ensure compliance with all relevant rules and regulations Enforce legislation by investigating and reporting any major or secondary NCAA or Southland Conference rules violations in a timely manner.
