Christian Cale delivered in the UNO baseball team's season opener.

The sophomore transfer from Northeast Mississippi CC started on the mound for head coach Bruce Peddie and yielded just three hits and a single run over five innings of work against No. 22 ranked Southern Arkansas. Cale struck out four batters and exited with the lead on way to a victory.

Cale is 1-0 on the season with a 1.80 ERA, while holding oppoosing batters to a .188 batting average.
