The University of New Orleans dropped a pair of decisions to Tulane and Arkansas-Little Rock in a double dual meet Saturday at the the Reily Student Recreation Center Natatorium. The Privateers narrowly lost a 96-91 to the Trojans and lost 169-40 to the Green Wave.
The Privateers scored 11 top five finishes, including a first place mark in the 200 freestyle relay, which featured Tory Sciortino, Leah Long, Jen Perez and Courtney Livaudais. The squad's time of 1:47.68 was two seconds more than the second place Trojans.
Sciortino took a pair of third place showings in her individual events. She had a time of 1:03.29 in the 100 backstroke and a mark of 2:15.01 in the 200 backstroke. The freshmen also took fourth in the 50 freestyle (26.81). Meanwhile, Long took second in the 500 freestyle (5:56.62), fifth in the 100 freestyle (57.82), and fifth in the 200 freestyle (2:06.18).
Livaudais took fourth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:12.76 and fifth in the 1,000 freestyle with a mark of 11:59.27. Perez garnered two top five showings by taking third in the 500 freestyle (6:30.25) and fifth in the 50 freestyle (26.81).
The Privateers return to action next weekend as they head to Houston on Friday to participate in the Houston Invitational.
