LAFAYETTE, La. - Louisiana-Lafayette swept the University of New
Orleans 7-0 in a men's tennis dual between Sun Belt Conference rivals
on Friday night at the Cajun Courts.
UNO (3-10) won just one of the three doubles' matches and dropped all six singles' matches to ULL (7-9).
In the one victory, Stepan Siska and Ben Smith teamed up at the No. 1
doubles' position for an 8-6 victory over Yanick Mandl and Carlin
Murray. Guilherme Rebolo and Abdelrahman Zaki fell short 8-6 at the No.
3 to Alexander Rupertsson and Neil Schneider at No. 3 in the team's
attempt to claim the doubles' point.
In singles' play, the Ragin' Cajuns won each of the matches in straight sets to pick up their fifth straight dual victory.
The UNO men will next take to the court on Thursday in the first round
of the Sun Belt Shootout in Troy, Ala. Opponents and match times will
be determined prior to the start of the three-day tournament featuring
SBC squads.
