NEW ORLEANS - Alex Fuselier went 4-for-4 with five RBIs, as Louisiana-Lafayette took a 16-7 win at New Orleans on Friday.
Jordan Poirrier and Chad Keefer hit back-to-back home runs during a four-run fifth inning, as the Ragin' Cajuns (29-16, 14-8 Sun Belt Conference) won their 10th straight SBC contest.
The Cajuns scored four runs in three different innings, helping senior right-hander Zach Osborne (8-2) pick up the win.
Osborne, one of the top pitchers in the league, gave up five runs and nine hits in 7 1/3 innings. But the Cajuns backed him up with 16 hits, with the top four hitters in the lineup combining for nine hits, 10 runs and five RBIs.
Nick Schwaner went 3-for-5 and hit his team-best 16th home run of the year for UNO (11-32, 2-21). The Privateers hit four home runs, including two from junior outfielder Mike Petello. Jay Morris also added a solo shot. Jerad Comarda recorded three hits.
The Privateers held a 2-0 lead after three innings thanks to a Rodarrick Jones sacrifice fly and a solo home run from Petello.
ULL, though, rallied with eight runs over the next two frames and led 8-3 after five. The Cajuns scored in five of their final six at-bats.
The two teams will continue the series at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
