NEW ORLEANS – Travin Thibodeaux finished with his ninth 20-point game of the season and
Bryson Robinson came off the bench with 22 points – 15 from three-point range – in the University of New Orleans' (12-11, 9-3 Southland) 81-64 loss to Nicholls State University (14-9, 8-2 Southland) Saturday afternoon at Lakefront Arena.
Robinson connected on five triples and Thibodeaux tallied his 16-consecutive double-digit game with the 20 points.
FIRST HALF
The Privateers struggled offensively, shooting 29.6 percent from the floor as Nicholls led 35-23 at the half.
Inserted back into the starting lineup,
Makur Puou scored seven points and pulled down five rebounds.
SECOND HALF
The Colonels came out strong to extend the lead to 48-27 at the under 16 media.
Moments later, a 23-point Nicholls lead was cut to 17 after six unanswered, capped off by a
Diontae Champion tip that led to a Thibodeaux steal and Robinson triple.
The lead was condensed to 10 with 2:08 to go after back-to-back triples by Robinson but the Colonels knocked down free throws down the stretch to improve to 8-2 in Southland play.
