CONWAY, Ark. – University of New Orleans (9-9, 4-3 Southland) junior
Bryson Robinson tied
James Parlow's record with nine three-pointers to finish with 28 points in Wednesday's 76-71 loss to the University of Central Arkansas (10-10, 5-2 Southland) at the Farris Center.
Parlow drained nine triples January 4, 2007 versus Florida Atlantic. Robinson finished 9-of-15 from long distance and his 28 points mark the third time the Mesquite, Texas native surpasses the 20-point plateau. It was three points away from tying his career-high set last season at McNeese State University. Robinson also tied his career-high with eight rebounds and added two steals and a block.
Troy Green came off the bench with 13 points, four assists and two steals,
Jahmel Myers added four points, six rebounds and three steals and
Ezekiel Charles pulled down nine rebounds.
Damion Rosser finished with seven points, three steals and a blocked shot.
Defensively, the Privateers continued to force turnovers as UCA finished with 19 miscues. Hayden Koval led the Bears with 22 points and seven blocks, and three other starters reached double figures.

The Privateers attempted 12 free throws to UCA's 26.
FIRST HALF
Rosser and Robinson swatted away early layup attempts but Central Arkansas began the game 3-of-5 from long distance and Hayden Koval collected three blocks in the opening minutes to put the Bears in front 17-6 with 13:23 remaining.
Out of the under-16 media, Robinson drained a corner triple and Green hit a mid-range jumper to force a UCA timeout.
Charles turned away Thatch Unruh's layup and Green found an open
Gerrale Gates to cut the deficit to four. The run was officially 7-0 UNO. After Unruh's trey, Robinson responded with his second three of the stanza.
The three-point shooting of the Bears allowed the home club to extend their lead to double figures (8:12) as UCA began the game 6-of-11 from long distance.
With 4:53 to go in the half, Robinson connected on his fourth three-pointer of the half to reach double figures (12 points) and cut the UCA lead to 32-28.
Moments later, the red-hot B-Rob found nothing, but net and Green followed with a strong finish to make it a one-point game.
Charles was fouled driving to the basket on what appeared to be the foul and-one (goaltending) but the senior tied the game at the line for the first time since the tip.
At the half, Central Arkansas led 38-34. Unruh and Koval each had 12 points, but the game's leading scorer was Robinson, who finished 5-of-8 from three-point range for 15 points. The Privateers collected three blocks and five steals and went 5-of-12 from beyond-the-arc.
Amari Haynes came off the bench with four points, three rebounds and a blocked shot.
SECOND HALF
Robinson drilled his first from behind-the-arc to give the junior 18 points and a few minutes into the half, Gates' jumper made it 47-43 UCA. However, the Bears took a 10-point cushion with 11:15 remaining.
Central Arkansas took its largest lead of the game – 13 – with just over nine minutes left to play. On a loose ball, Robinson found Green for a layup and head coach
Mark Slessinger called a timeout. The layup put Green in double figures with 10.
A UCA turnover led to a Rosser basket and following Koval's trey, Green and Myers (after a steal) scored as the Bears looked to regroup up 67-59 with 7:15 remaining.
The 6-0 UNO run cut the Central Arkansas lead to six with six minutes left. The Bears hit the two of four free throws in a span of three minutes and Rosser made one-of-two as UCA took a seven-point edge to the four-minute mark.
69-62 would remain the score until 49.4 ticks to go as both clubs went cold. With 39 seconds left, Robinson drained his seventh three of the evening to reach 20-plus points for the third time in his career and cut the UNO deficit to 71-65.
With 7.9 left to play following UCA's free throws, Robinson put in his eighth trey to make it 72-68 as UNO called its final timeout.
Central Arkansas was able to secure the win despite Robinson's 28, defeating UNO 76-71 in the lone regular season meeting between the programs.
