Green Scores 15 Off the Bench in Regular Season Finale

HAMMOND, La. – The Privateers featured three double digit scorers but the University of New Orleans (17-12, 12-6 Southland) fell to Southeastern Louisiana University (16-14, 12-5 Southland) 81-67 Wednesday evening at the University Center. The loss concluded the regular season for UNO and the Privateers now prepare for the 2019 Southland Conference Tournament in Katy.

Troy Green was 6-of-12 for 15 points off the bench, Scott Plaisance Jr. finished with 12 points, seven rebounds and four blocks and Gerrale Gates added 11 points, seven boards at two steals. The Privateers shot 50.0 percent from the floor, but the Lions attempted 31 free throws, draining 24 en route to splitting the series.

FIRST HALF
Plaisance Jr. provided most of the offense for UNO with 10 first-half points and Larry Robinson III came off the bench with six as the Blue and Silver went into the halftime break down 34-31.

SLU led by eight with 13:23 remaining, but the Privateers scored 10 unanswered, capped by Robinson III's jumper at the 10:02 mark to take their first lead of the game. Four free throws under a minute allowed the Lions to regain the lead and take a three-point cushion into the break.

SECOND HALF
The field goal shooting for UNO improved, but Southeastern's Moses Greenwood took over, scored 25 of his 33 in the second stanza, and the Lions went 16-of-20 from the charity stripe to outscore UNO by 11 in the frame.

Green posted nine points in the second and Jorge Rosa followed with eight, but Southeastern Louisiana was able to secure the home win 81-67.
