NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team (6-4) lost out on the doubles point in a 6-1 defeat at the hands of the Richmond Spiders (6-5) on Wednesday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

Ank Vullings continued her winning streak in singles as she picked up the lone point on the day. The sophomore won 6-4, 6-3 to remain undefeated.
DOUBLES
The Spiders' top tandem of Kiana Marshall and Lyndell Giffenig put together a late service break en route to a 6-3 win.
New Orleans responded on court two as Vullings and
Mar Gendra held serve out of the changeover to win 6-4 at flight two.
At flight three, Richmond staved off three break point opportunities that would have tied the match at 5-5. Richmond secured the doubles point and took that momentum into singles.
SINGLES
Richmond were 3-0 in tiebreakers. The Spiders got first set tiebreakers at flight two and three. At flight five, a second set tiebreak earned the fourth and winning point.
NEXT UP
The Privateers will host Middle Tennessee on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the University Tennis Center.
