NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers men's tennis team breezed to a 6-1 victory against the Copiah-Lincoln CC Wolves to complete a busy week on Friday afternoon at the Privateer Tennis Center.
The Privateers won two doubles matches and six singles sets between their lineup without dropping a single game.
In doubles,
Julian Franzmann and
Marc Mail notched a 6-0 victory.
David Tesic and
Marius Gyllerup also followed with a 6-0 win at flight three.
Joseph Townes and
Jay Temming, who played at flight one, scored a 6-3 decision.
Once it broke down to singles play, the Privateers got off the court quickly. Gyllerup and
Sep de Visser both had 6-0, 6-0 wins.
David Tesic kept his momentum going with a 6-0, 6-1 win that moved his overall spring record to 10-1.
Townes won his match by only conceding one game and moved his record to 8-4 on the season. Franzmann also pulled away late in the second set by winning the last four games for a 6-1, 6-2 decision.
The Wolves got a win at flight one when Ege Altas was victorious after Mail retired from the match seven games deep into the third set and trailing 4-3.
