Biography

James Kentfield joined the University of New Orleans athletic department in January 2009 as the Director of Ticket Operations. In this position, Kentfield oversees ticket sales, season ticket promotions and other related promotional efforts to drive ticket sales for UNO programs.

Kentfield came to the Lakefront after working for the New Orleans Hornets as the Group Sales Manager. During his year spent with the Hornets, Kentfield was part of a staff that increased group tickets sold per week by an average of 2,165 from his start date through the end of the 2007-08 regular season. He led his sales staff to over 1.3 million dollars in group tickets revenue and also played an integral part in driving the sales team to over 5,000 new season tickets, the second best performance in NBA history.

Prior to working with the Hornets, he served as a Group Sales Account Executive with the Orlando Magic for two years. While in Orlando, Kentfield achieved both group and season ticket goals in his first full season and was awarded 2006-07 Sales MVP. During his time with the Magic, Kentifield also developed and managed large ticket accounts.

The 2004 graduate of Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Advertising and Promotion, Kentfield now resides in New Orleans with his wife Cortney and their daughter Lily, who was born in February 2009.
