SOPHOMORE SEASON (2013-14)
Tied personal best in the javelin at the McNeese Spring Time Classic with a throw of 231'10" while taking top honors...Finished first in the javelin in three other meets during the outdoor season at Louisiana-Lafayette, Southeastern, and Samford...Also competed in the discus and shot put.
FRESHMAN SEASON (2013)
All-Louisiana selection... Top javelin thrower in Louisiana... NCAA Regionals qualifier... Placed 21st at Regionals... Finished regular season ranked No. 9 in the East Region and No. 19 nationally... Claimed first place in five of seven events in the javelin... Initially established school-record with throw of 227-11 at the Louisiana Classics, a mark that briefly was tops in the nation... Personal-best throw of 231-10 accomplished at McNeese State on Apr. 16... Set facility record with throw of 223-6 at Southeastern Louisiana... Also won meets at LSU and Samford...Competed in discus during indoor season.
PRE-NEW ORLEANS
Ranked No. 24 on the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) world juniors list in the javelin... Represented Great Britain this past summer at the 2012 World Junior Track and Field Championships in Barcelona, Spain... Began his high school career by breaking the British U15 javelin record five times over the course of the 2007 season. The record-breaking campaign enabled him to win the English Schools' Athletic Association (EESA) U15 championship and England Athletics' U15 Open Championships.... Mortimore added to his string of success by claiming the javelin event at the 2008 ESAA U17 Championships and the 2008 United Kingdom School Games. In 2012, the native of Ipswich placed first at the England U20/U23 Championships, qualifying for the 2012 World Championships.
