Paula Picker was hired as the Coordinator of Administrative Services in October 2008. At UNO, Picker is responsible for coordinating administrative duties for the athletic director, acts as a liaison between the Director and staff, maintains personnel files in addition to handling correspondence needs for the director.

Prior to joining the athletic department, Picker worked for 25 years as the Director of Early Childhood at the Jewish Community Center. While at the JCC, she was incharge of hiring and evaluating twenty-three professional teachers as well as maintaining the school's Louisiana Class A licensing and NAEYC Accreditation standards.

Picker spent the 15 years prior to her director post at the JCC in different education posts. She served in teaching capacities over the years at Bissonet Plaza, Greenlawn Terrance, Threshold Nursery School and at the JCC.

Holding a Bachelor's of Arts Degree from Newcomb College in sociology, psychology and elementary education, Picker added a Masters' of Education from Tulane in elementary education. Additionally, Picker completed 30 hours in graduate courses beyond her master's degree.

Picker currently resides in Metairie with her husband, Joel.
