Coming from a basketball powerhouse, Butler University, Matt Richter joined the University of New Orleans men’s basketball staff – the defending Southland Conference regular season and tournament champions - in the summer of 2017. He will be responsible for video and multimedia for the Privateers.
 
A student manager for three seasons at Butler University, Richter graduated from the Big East program in 2016 with a degree in middle and secondary education. The South Bend, Indiana native was a high school social studies teacher and assistant coach at White River Valley in Switz City, Indiana in 2016-17. He also coached the freshman team at Bishop Chatard while enrolled full-time at Butler.
 
The son of Susan and Patric, he has an older brother Ryan. Richter resides in New Orleans.
