Biography
o 2007-08: Had his worst shooting season of his career but still was instrumental in helping Privateers achieve highest win total since 1997...Finished third on team with 8.4 points per game and was second on team with 39 steals...Set new school record with 222 career 3-pointers...Broke previous record of 177 in Dec. 18 game against Southern Mississippi...Best shooting stretch came during a span of five games from Dec. 19-Jan. 2...Averaged 14.4 points per game and was 24-of-45 from 3-point range...Had season-high 25 points thanks to eight 3-pointers in win over Arkansas State on Dec. 22....Had career-high seven assists in season-opening win over Northwestern State...Led UNO in free-throw percentage (82 percent).
o 2006-07: After missing first four games of the season with a sprained ankle, came on to have strong season...Set UNO single-season record with 85 3-pointers...Led Sun Belt Conference with 3.15 treys per game and ranked third in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (47.2)...Percentage tally was good for sixth nationally...Ranked third on team with 12.9 points per game...Set UNO school record with nine 3-pointers against Florida Atlantic on Jan. 4 and set career high with 29 points...Had 20 points or more four times and scored in double figures 19 times...Also set career high with 10 rebounds in win over Tulane on Jan. 1.
o 2005-06: Of players that completed the season, led the team in scoring with 10.6 points per game...Led Privateers in scoring three different times, including a season-best 20 against Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 16...Also led UNO with 66 3-pointers made and shot 36.1 percent from 3-point land...Treys made ranked seventh on UNO's single-season list...Following season, was named Coca-Cola Community All-American, recognizing him for his efforts during Hurricane Katrina, which caused his family to be evacuated from their home in the Lower 9th Ward.
o2004-05: Declared eligible to play immediately Jan. 10 after being certified by the NCAA Clearinghouse...enrolled at the University as a part-time student during the fall semester but was not allowed to practice with the team until December, during the period of evaluation of his ACT score...his qualifying ACT score enabled him to become eligible...saw action in 12 games his first season...scored three points and added two assists in 13 minutes in his first game against New Mexico State (1/13)...added a seven points against UL Lafayette (1/15) while also dishing two assists...tallied season-high three assists and added a block in 13 minutes off the bench at Western Kentucky (1/20)...scored two points and add two rebounds in 10 minutes at UALR (2/5)...made first collegiate start at Louisiana Tech (2/19) and scored a season-high 22 points, including 18 in the first half...hit 5-of-6 3-pointers for the game including all five attempts in the opening half...made a leaning 18-foot jumper in overtime to help UNO win in Ruston...averaged 13.0 points as a starter over the final five games as a starter and 30.2 minutes per game during that time.
oHigh School: Prepped at Carver High School and played on a state championship team there his junior season...was a partial qualifier out of high school...was an all-state selection last spring, as well as a three-time all-district player, a two-time all-Metro performer and a four-year letterwinner...averaged 22 points a contest during his senior season...played AAU basketball for the New Orleans Jazz that played in many national tournaments.
