Eric Flores joins the University of New Orleans track & field program for his first season after being hired in September 2015.
Flores was honored with (USTFCCCA) Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Region award winners for Atlantic Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year 2014 Indoor.
Flores also garnered (USTFCCCA) Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Region awards for Atlantic Region Men's Assistant Coach of the Year 2015 Outdoor.
A 2012 graduate of Cal Lutheran, Flores was the USTFCCCA D-III National Men's Field Athlete of the Year in 2010 and 2011. A three-time National Champion in the hammer throw, the All-American also won the National title in the shot put. He was named Cal Lutherans School’s Athlete of the Year for 2010 and 2011.
Prior to his stint with the Kingsmen, Flores was a member of the Black Hills State University Track & Field team, where he was a four-time NAIA National Champion, including the weight throw, hammer and shot put, before transferring to Cal Lutheran in 2009.
Flores earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, with an emphasis in Pedagogy.
In the throws (Shot Put, Discus, Hammer Throw, Javelin) all of which are Flores primary focus. In his first three years of being a collegiate coach and conference member Flores coached:
