Vince Granito enters his eighth year with the New Orleans Privateers and is the current interim athletic director as of September 2024. Granito has also served as the associate athletic director for internal operations and as director of ticket sales and service.
Granito joined the staff at the Lakefront in April 2017. With over 30 years of experience in collegiate athletics, Granito, in his new role, will lead an effort to increase ticket sales and attendance at home games.
Prior to UNO, Granito worked at Tulane University, starting as the director of ticket operations and working his way up to an associate athletic director role. In 19 years as an associate AD for the Green Wave, Granito oversaw external affairs, internal affairs as well as facilities and event management. While under his guidance, Tulane broke ground and opened Yulman Stadium, Greer Field and the renovation of Devlin Fieldhouse. In 2013, he earned the Tulane University President’s Staff Excellence Award for best representing high achievement in contributions to the university.
During his tenure at Tulane, Granito managed numerous NCAA Championship events. He served as Co-Director of the New Orleans Host Committee for both the 2012 Men’s Final Four and 2013 Women’s Final Four, while assisting as the game manager for the 2004 Women’s Final Four. He also served as the event manager for the 1992 Division I Track & Field Championships.
In prior stops, Granito has also worked at the University of Houston and the U.S. Naval Academy.
Granito earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration at Youngstown State and earned his master’s in sports administration at St. Thomas University.
He is married to Michele Boubede Granito. They have four children and reside in Metairie, La.
Fun Fact: Worked 1984 Spring Training with the New York Yankees as a field assistant.
