Pitcher Jake Fabre pitched a complete game shutout as the University of New Orleans defeated No. 16 Delta State 7-0 on Sunday afternoon. The junior scattered five hits, did not walk a single batter and struck out two en route to becoming the first Privateer to throw a complete game shutout since Brandon Kling defeated UALR 4-0 on Mar. 5, 2002.
Fabre also made an appearance out of the bullpen this past week, allowing a single hit in one inning as part of a 9-4 win against William Carey.
For the week, Fabre did not allow a single run on six hits in 10 innings of work. Opposing batters struck out twice, were never walked and held to a .182 batting average.
For his efforts, Fabre will also be nominated for Louisiana Pitcher of the Week honors.
