Jarryd Gregoire finished third place in both the 100 fly and 100 free at the New South Intercollegiate Swim Championships to lead the UNO efforts on the weekend.
The native of Trinidad placed third in the 100 fly on Friday night with a season-best 49.96 before coming back Saturday evening to swim another season-best, a 45.59 to place third in the 100 free. Gregoire qualified fifth for the 100 free, before lowering his time from a morning swim of 45.75 to earn a spot on the podium.
In relay events, Gregoire was part of two season-best performances.
The UNO men's 200 free team of Gregoire, Moss, Brian Comiskey and McDonner set a season-best on Thursday with a time of 1:31.83, topping a mark of 1:33.63 accomplished earlier this season against Incarnate Word and Trinity. Gregoire's 21.20 lead leg eclipsed his season-best performance in the 50 free from earlier this season.
The men would strike a season-best again on Saturday in the 400 relay with Gregoire, Moss, Comiskey and McDonner touching the wall in a season-best 3:21.75. The mark was over 40 seconds quicker than the 4:04.36 accomplished earlier this year.Â
