Christoffer Appelgren posted a pair of singles' victories against foes from Nicholls State and South Alabama to highlight the UNO efforts at the Southern Miss Invitational.

Appelgren started his weekend by defeating South Alabama's Jan Hellmich for the second straight week. The Flight 3 consolation semifinalist at the Big Easy Classic a week prior, Hellmich was defeated 6-1, 6-4 by Appelgren.

Later in the day, the Privateer freshman enacted his revenge on Nicholls State's Sidharth Sivakumar. A week after falling to the Colonel in the 'Round of 16' at the Big Easy Classic in straight sets, Appelgren posted a 6-3, 7-5 win over his foe from NSU.

On the young season, Appelgren is 3-1 in singles' play with his lone win coming to Sivakumar.
