For the second time during the indoor season, Brandon Knight is the UNOPrivateers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.
Needing to establish a personal best just to register a height at the LSU Twilight meet, Knight did exactly that. The former Privateer basketball player eclipsed his previous best by four inches, soaring over the bar with a mark of 1.94 meters.
The result placed Knight behind ULM's Clint Broussard who cleared 2.06 meters.
“Today really showed what Brandon is capable of,” said UNO head coach Ty Sevin after the performance. “The more opportunities he gets going forward, the more he is going to improve. This was only his third collegiate meet and he has made great strides.”
In each meet this season, Knight has finished in the top three. The Pensacola, Fla. native placed second in his first competition of the year at McNeese before following it with a third place showing two weeks later at a second meet at McNeese.
