Volleyball freshman Cara Sander is this week's UNOPrivateers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

A native of Konstanz, Germany, Sander delivered a team-high 42 kills over 17 sets played during UNO's 2-3 week. The 2.47 kills per set average for Sander was also tops on the team, as was the five service aces she compiled.

Sander posted a career-high 11 kills in the match against Alabama State, surpassing her previous top mark of 10 accomplished a week earlier at Louisiana Tech. The freshman then added 10 more kills against Savannah State.

In addition to her offensive numbers, Sander added 37 digs for a 2.18 digs per set average - first on the team amongst middle blockers and outside hitters - while also having a hand on seven blocks, which was second behind Taylor Berry.

The dig totals included a career-high 12 against UAPB, surpassing her previous top mark of nine accomplished earlier in the weekend against SSU.
