Junior forward, Matt Derenbecker is this week's UNOprivateers.com Student-Athlete of the Week.

Derenbecker was tied for team tops in points scored with 12 in the Privateers' 71-69 upset over the UTEP Miners on Monday, December 16.  He also led the team in rebounds with nine in a win, and played a team-high 37 minutes while not having a personal foul.

His layup at the 7:44 mark in the second half was the go-head bucket, and the Privateers led from that moment on.  Derenbecker also scored eight of the team’s final nine points to ensure the victory, which was the first road win against a Division I opponent in 25 games for the Privateers since Feb. 2010.
