Hossam Meligy is entering his second season as the Privateers' tennis volunteer assistant coach.

A native of Cairo, Egypt, Meligy helped guide the Privateers men's team to an appearance in the Southland Conference Championship game in his senior season in 2012-13. 

Meligy has 31 career singles wins, fifth all-time in program history. He also has 38 doubles wins. Meligy earned many honors including being named an ITA All-American in his junior season and to the Southland Conference Second Team as a senior. Meligy was also named to the All-Louisiana team twice and was named Louisiana Freshman of the Year in his first year on the Lakefront.

Meligy is the son of Ahmed Meligy and Nehad Saad. He has two siblings, Sara and Salma.
