NEW ORLEANS ? For the second time in as many weeks Jayne Duncan was named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week the Sun Belt Conference announced Monday. Duncan has now garnered Player of the Week honors three times this season.
As the Privateers secured their best conference finish since 1998, Jayne Duncan averaged 4.5 digs per game and set a UNO career milestone of 1700 digs. Against Louisiana-Monroe, Duncan had 12 digs and a service ace in the New Orleans sweep. She had a match-high 25 digs and a service ace against Arkansas-Little Rock. In the final match of the week, Duncan had eight digs against ASU.
New Orleans will now travel to Denton, Texas to face host team North Texas on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. UNO secured the fifth seed in the tournament after going 2-1 last week.
