NEW ORLEANS - Denver snapped the University of New Orleans volleyball team's four match winning streak with a 3-0 (30-17, 30-27,30-28) win over the Privateers on Sunday afternoon.
UNO (11-11, 5-4 SBC) was led by Lindsey Boler who had 16 kills and Dobrilla Kovacevic who added 12. Jaci Bayley had 25 assists while libero Nicky Valenti had a team-high 17 digs.
The Pioneers (13-9, 7-2 SBC) received 12 kills from Kim Muller and 10 from Alyta Baris. Clare Maxwell had a match-high 38 assists while Kacie Wikierak led three Pioneers in double-digit digs with 17.
The Privateers went up 21-14 in the third game before DU rallied back to eventually tie the game at 25 before scoring five of the final eight points to close out the match.
DU went up 23-15 in the second game before a UNO run of eight straight points that brought the Privateers back in the game at 23 apiece as Boler had seven kills in the frame. The Pioneers closed out the scoring in the second game with three straight points after the two teams were knotted at 27.
In the opening frame, the Pioneers opened up a 11-9 lead before scoring 11 of the next 12 points to take a 22-10 lead. DU
