Volleyball Swept at Tulane

NEW ORLEANS -- The University of New Orleans volleyball team saw its three-match win streak end on Tuesday, as host-Tulane tallied a .373 hitting percentage to take a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-16) win at Fogelman Arena.

Sara Radsosevic had 10 kills and three service aces, and Visnja Djurdjevic recorded eight kills and four total blocks for the Green Wave (14-5).

Dobrilla Kovacevic paced the Privateers (11-6) with a match-high 12 kills, while Lindsey Loyd added 10. Nicky Valenti led the UNO defense with 15 digs.

While the Green Wave offense was clicking, their defense shined as well. Tulane, which won its 12th match in 13 outings, had 16 total blocks and held UNO to a .273 hitting percentage -- including a .179 clip in the final set.

The teams were tied at 15-15 in the opening set before Tulane went on a 5-0 spurt to take control. UNO led through much of the early part of the second set, but Tulane rallied to take four straight points at the midway point to take a 16-12 advantage and never trailed again.

In the final set, Tulane broke open a 10-7 lead by running off nine of the next 11 points.

The Privateers, who played their final non-conference match of the year, will continue a busy week at 7 p.m. on Thursday when they host Arkansas State at the Human Performance Center.
