Box Score FORT COLLINS, Colo. -- Colorado State forward Andy Ogide had a game-high 22 points and 12 rebounds as the host-Rams pulled away from New Orleans to take a 78-60 win on Wednesday at Moby Arena.
Ogide, a sophomore transfer from Ole Miss, was 8-for-12 from the floor and recorded his second double-double on the young season. He was one of four Rams in double figures.
Marcus Walker, who did not play for CSU (3-2) in its loss to Saint Martin's on Monday, had 19 points while Andre McFarland tallied 15 points and Josh Simmons added 10.
UNO (0-4) was paced by sophomore walk-on guard Justin Archie with 14 points. The left-handed Californian was 4-for-7 from 3-point range and was one of four Privateers in double figures.
Sophomore center Jaroslav Tyrna had 12 points and a career-high eight rebounds, and T.J. Worley and Destin Damachoua recorded 11 points each.
The Privateers out-rebounded the Rams 37-32 -- including a 14-6 advantage on the offensive glass. But UNO only netted two second-chance points, and CSU shot 69 percent in the second half to break open a 28-21 halftime lead.
UNO was without preseason All-Sun Belt Conference forward Kyndall Dykes for the fourth straight game due to a sprained ankle. Darrian McKinstry, who led UNO in scoring during the first three games with 20 points per contest, only appeared late in the game as a free-throw shooting substitution.
He was also hobbled with an ankle injury suffered in last Saturday's loss at Savannah State.
"It was a tale of two halves, which is the way it has been for us lately," said UNO head coach Joe Pasternack, whose team was outscored 50-39 in the second half. "I thought our guys competed really hard without our two best players.
"We missed a lot of layups and some free throws that could have given us a chance. But we were not able to sub much tonight, and the lack of depth really wore us down."
Both teams struggled in the first half, as CSU shot 36 percent while UNO shot just 29 percent. The Privateers, who were also 2-for-7 from the free-throw line during the frame, were limited to only 11 points in the game's first 16:55.
In the second half, though, both teams got the offense going. Damachoua's jumper with 11:05 remaining cut CSU's lead to 48-40.
But McFarland's layup on the ensuing possession, followed by an Ogide layup off a UNO turnover, gave the Rams a 52-40 lead. CSU led by double figures the rest of the way.
UNO shot 50 percent in the final half and finished at 38 percent overall.
The Privateers, who play eight of their next 12 games at home, will return to Lakefront Arena on Saturday night when they host Southern. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
