NEW ORLEANS - Three years after being displaced following the
destruction of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the University of New
Orleans athletic department is gearing towards moving into its
permanent home.
UNO will transform the old Alumni and Development Center building on the corner of Leon C. Simon Boulevard and Franklin Avenue into a state-of-the-art academic center and athletic department administrative offices in a building which will be called Privateer Hall.
While the athletic staff moves into Privateer Hall, the UNO men's and women's basketball programs will return to their Lakefront Arena offices.
Now is your chance to be a part of history as the UNO athletic department is currently searching for companies and individuals who want to join in on our rebuilding efforts. You can give a gift that will be intended to provide furnishings for an office or space in either Privateer Hall or the men's and women's basketball offices in the Lakefront Arena.
The gift will be commemorated by a plaque, furnished by the Privateer Athletic Foundation, which will be located prominently in or near the listed office or space. The plaque will contain the name of the donor, the date of the gift and a short dedication, should the donor desire.
