NEW ORLEANS - LSU out-rebounded the University of New Orleans 44-26,
giving the Lady Tigers a 17-3 edge in second-chance points as they
picked up a 67-48 victory on Wednesday night at Lakefront Arena.

Barrett, who scored 15 points in the opening half, finished with 21
points as LSU (9-5) won their 27th straight game against an in-state
rival.
Allison Hightower added 15 points while Courtney Jones chipped in another 14. Barrett and Jones each had eight rebounds apiece.
Ty Felder scored 11 points, eight of which came in the second half, to pace UNO (8-9), who lost for the second straight game.
After
LSU made a basket to open the game, UNO responded by making their first
three field goal attempts to go on a 7-2 run, allowing the Lady
Privateers to take an early 7-4 lead.
Barrett, who scored the
Lady Tigers' first 11 points turned the tide around for the visitors by
going on her own personal 7-0 run. The run was part of a larger 20-3
run by LSU as they built a 15-point advantage at 24-10 that would grow
to 39-25 at the half.
The Lady Tigers scored 27 of the second
half's first 34 points to take their largest lead of the game at 56-32.
UNO cut the lead to 11 as they scored 13 straight points during a run
that included two Felder three-pointers.
The run would come to a halt as LSU extended their lead back out to 19, which was as high as it would get down the stretch.
The
Lady Privateers will head to Bowling Green, Ky. on Saturday for a 4
p.m. contest against SBC rival Western Kentucky. The game will be
available on UNO Vision and Fox College Sports Atlantic.
