NEW ORLEANS - Troy hit three home runs and tallied 13 hits in an 11-3 win at New Orleans on Friday evening at Maestri Field.
Adam Bryant with 2-for-5 with a three-run home run, one of five Trojans with two hits, as Troy (19-19, 6-10 Sun Belt Conference) snapped a three-game losing streak.
Todd McRae went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and three runs scored, while Miles Hoyle was 2-for-2 - including a two-run home run.
Andrew Dickinson (5-3) scattered 11 hits but gave up just three runs in six innings. The right-hander struck out eight and threw 119 pitches. Three Troy hurlers combined for 13 strikeouts.
UNO (10-27, 2-17) managed 12 hits but struggled with 10 stranded runners. Mike Petello went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, and Nolan Church also added a solo blast.
Eight of UNO's nine starters recorded at least one hit. Four Privateers (Petello, Nick Schwaner, Matt Heltz and Tyler Sanford) had two hits.
The Trojans, who never trailed, scored three runs in the sixth - keyed by Hoyle's opposite-field home run - to give the visitors a commanding 7-2 lead.
UNO redshirt freshman Kevin Berry (2-2) picked up the loss but did work a season-high seven innings. The right-hander gave up eight runs (five earned) and struck out three.
The game was delayed by 90 minutes due to afternoon rain. Due to more expected poor weather this weekend, Saturday's game time has been pushed back to 7 p.m.
