TULSA, Okla. – The New Orleans Privateers volleyball team closed the 2013 season with a 3-0 loss to the third-place Oral Roberts Golden Eagles on Saturday afternoon.
The Privateers (3-28, 0-18) fell 25-10, 26-24, 25-15 to the Golden Eagles (22-6, 14-4), putting an end to the team's first season competing in the Southland Conference.
In the match, New Orleans was led by sophomore
Taylor Berry with a season-high 9 kills and 3 blocks. Following her was senior
Marti Richmiller with 6 kills and 5 digs, while sophomore
Celeste Ramirez put forth a team-best 23 assists coupled with 10 assists. Sophomore
Lauren Levy led the Privateers with 13 digs.
For three Privateers:
Ariane Labrzycki,
Nandi Brown, and Richmiller it was their last time suiting up as a Privateer. The three seniors were honored at the last home match of the season versus Stephen F. Austin.
Oral Roberts was led by Sara Pope with 11 kills, while Laura Taylor had 35 assists and Bruna Silva had 13 digs. The Golden Eagles await seeding for the Southland Conference Tournament.
