HAMMOND, La. – The New Orleans Privateers suffered a 3-0 setback to Southland and regional rival Southeastern La. at the University Center on Saturday afternoon.

The Privateers (3-24, 0-14 Southland) lost the first set, 25-16, despite senior Marti Richmiller and sophomore Taylor Berry each having 3 kills.  Senior Ariane Labrzycki also had 8 assists in the first set loss.  The Lions (10-16, 4-10 Southland) accounted for 15 kills in getting the win.

Building on the first set victory, the Lions carried the momentum into the second set and gained a 25-8 win to go up 2-0.  The third and final set swayed in favor of Southeastern, 25-19, despite a valiant effort by the Privateers, as the team fought to tie the match, 15-15, before the Lions pulled away.

Leading the Privateers in the match was Richmiller with 6 kills, followed by Berry and freshman Courtney Roblez with 5.  Labrzycki was the only Privateer to register an assist and she finished with 18.  Sophomore Lauren Levy led New Orleans in digs with 15.
