Â
The Green Wave started the scoring early after a lead-off single by Stephen Alemais. After Alemais was moved to second on a bunt, he stole third and the throw from behind the plate was sailed into left which brought Alemais home and gave Tulane a 1-0 lead in the first.
Â
Tulane added another run that was aided by an error in the third. Richard Carthon laid down a bunt and reached on an error to put two on with no outs. John Gandolfo then got an RBI ground out to push the Green Wave lead to 2-0.
Â
The big inning came in the fourth as Tulane pounded out seven hits and plated six runs to put the game out of reach. The Green Wave added another run in the sixth on back-to-back doubles to cap off the scoring while pounding 16 hits on the night.
Â

Ron Maestri. "They're a good ball club and they made the adjustments. They took the ball the other way with two strikes."
Â
Mitchell Cohen entered with two outs in the fourth and was able to go 3.1 innings out of the pen while limiting the Green Wave to one run while striking out two.
Nick Halliday and
Keaton Brewer each pitched shutout innings to end the game.
