WACO, Texas – Bryson Robinson scored 11 points in the first half to lead the squad Saturday evening at the Ferrell Center but the University of New Orleans (5-6) fell to Baylor University (8-4) 84-44. Robinson connected on three triples in the first half. The junior added two blocks.
Amari Haynes added eight points and six rebounds and
Jorge Rosa came off the bench with six points.
FIRST HALF
Baylor struck first but the Privateers followed with an
Ezekiel Charles triple. UNO forced three turnovers at the under-16 media.
Moments later, Robinson drained a three with 12:49 to go to regain the lead for the Privateers, 8-6.
Following the under-12 media, Haynes' rewarded himself as the offensive rebound led to an easy basket.
A 16-2 Baylor run put the Bears in front by double figures. Robinson ended the Baylor run with his second triple of the half at 5:24 to go.
On the ensuing possession,
Gerrale Gates swatted away the jumper.
B Rob reached double figures with his third trey of the half with just over a minute. At the half, Baylor led 37-21 after
Damion Rosser hit UNO's fifth three-pointer of the first stanza right before the buzzer.
Robinson led all players with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from three-point range.
SECOND HALF
The Bears shot 53.1 percent in the second en route to a 47-point half and 84-44 victory over the Privateers.
Haynes and Rosa posted six points apiece and Robinson swatted away two shots in the period.
