NEW ORLEANS – Orynn Veillon went 2-for-4 and 
Devin Morrill tallied three hits in four at-bats in the University of New Orleans' (19-27, 8-13 Southland) 8-2 loss to the University of the Incarnate Word (27-18, 12-9 Southland) Sunday afternoon at Maestri Field.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
UIW took a 4-0 lead with a run in the first and three in the second. The Cardinals tacked on two more in the fourth for a 6-0 lead.
 
UNO kept Incarnate Word silent until the top of the eighth but responded with back-to-back RBI singles by Veillon and 
Beau Bratton to cut the UIW lead to 7-2.
 
WIN-LOSS RECORD
Jenner Jackson (2-3) picked up the victory with four strikeouts in 5.2 innings. Bernie Martinez was credited with his first save of the season in 3.1 innings of work.
 
John Michael Stephens (3-4) allowed four runs in 2.0 innings. 
Matthew Gillis punched out three in 1.1 innings. 
William Griffin tossed 2.2 scoreless and 
Rafael Martinez followed with a scoreless seventh. 
Eric Orze and 
Mathew Oset appeared in an inning.
