NEW ORLEANS – The Privateers collected 7.0 team blocks in Tuesday's 3-0 loss to Tulane University (4-0) at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in Devlin Fieldhouse.
Brianna Vega finished with nine kills, five digs and two blocks in the University of New Orleans' (1-3) 25-14, 25-20, 25-17 loss.
Kaitlyn Grice tallied six blocks,
Blessing Dunn added four kills, 10 digs and two blocks and
Ehize Omoghibo tacked on two blocks and six kills.
SET ONE
The Green Wave jumped to a 21-5 lead and looked dominant early, but the opening set was a deceiving one. The Privateers ended the set on a 9-2 run with Tulane taking the game 25-14.
SET TWO
Tulane posted the set's first point, but UNO followed with four consecutive points, highlighted by two assisted blocks by Grice (Dunn one and Vega one). In the set, Grice collected two more assisted blocks. The Privateers threatened, but the Green Wave secured the set No. 2 victory 25-20. Heading into the third, Grice had five blocks, Dunn added two blocks and eight digs and Uline picked up six digs.
