CONWAY, Ark.
– It was a gutsy effort right down to the end but the New Orleans Privateers' season ended by a 3-0 decision (25-17, 25-23, 25-21) to the Stephen F. Austin Lady Jacks on Friday afternoon at the Farris Center.

FROM COACH VAN NORDEN
"We came out with a lot of courage and heart. We didn't play the jersey or the ranking. We played as hard as we could. Even through the difficulties we didn't give up. We're looking forward to what the future holds for this program."

"We thank our seniors for everything they've done. They really committed to being a part of this program on and off the court and I'm so appreciative for everything they gave us. We don't want to waste it. We want to continue and build."

STATISTICAL LEADERS
Ehize Omoghibo finished her collegiate career with a 17-kill, 13-dig performance. Brianna Vega had seven kills, five digs, and two blocks in her final match. Andrea Nava finished with a team-high 20 digs and added five assists. Sh'Diamond Holly had eight kills and five total blocks. Chloe Hampton finished with six kills. Lucie Pokorna had 36 assists and nine digs.

FIRST SET
The Privateers came out on fire after they scored the first five points of the match. Shortly after, Stephen F. Austin's first big run, a 12-4 spurt put them ahead by three. The Privateers quickly came back to tie it up but the Lady Jacks subsequently scored on five straight rallies. That was the separation the top seed needed to see out the opening set.

SECOND SET
Once again, the Privateers continued to challenge Stephen F. Austin. The second set featured 16 ties and nine lead changes. The Lady Jacks were held to a .184 attack percentage but at 23-23, a kill by Xariah Williams gave them set point which they converted on a service ace by Ariana Pagan.

THIRD SET
New Orleans rallied from an early 11-7 deficit to again push the top seed to the limit. A 6-2 run keyed by four kills from Omoghibo tied the score at 13-13. New Orleans surged ahead 20-18 on another Omoghibo kill. However, the last run proved to be the decider as the Lady Jacks scored seven of the next eight points to advance to the semifinal of the Southland tournament.
