NEW ORLEANS – Bryson Robinson posted 22 points on 6-of-11 shooting from deep,
Gerrale Gates went 7-of-10 for a career-high 29 points and added seven rebounds and two others reached double figures in New Orleans' (4-5) 103-59 victory over Williams Baptist (2-6) Saturday evening at Lakefront Arena.
Ahren Freeman came off the bench with 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting, with two highlight reel dunks and swiped three passes and
Troy Green posted 15 points and three assists.
FIRST HALF
The Privateers shot 50.0 percent from the floor in the opening stanza and scored 19 points off WBU's 11 turnovers to lead 50-30 at the break. Robinson was one of three to reach double figures, leading all players with 14 points. B-Rob was 4-of-9 from three-point range. Gates posted 11 points, four rebounds and a block and Green added 11 points.
Jaylen Key pulled down five rebounds and
Lamont Berzat dished four assists.
Travon Cobb paced the Eagles with 11 points.
SECOND HALF
It was all New Orleans as the club improved its shooting percentage, shooting 71.4 percent in the half.
NOTES: The Privateers wore the Silver uniforms for the second time at Lakefront Arena and fourth time overall this season after debuting them at Mississippi State… Berzat made his first start of the season… it was the third time the Privateers surpassed the century mark this season… Gates posted a career-high 19 points… Robinson scored 20+ for the seventh time as a Privateer and second this season… New Orleans went 17-of-20 from the charity stripe and forced 20+ turnovers for the third time (2-1)… Berzat led all with seven assists and Gates pulled a game-high seven boards.

The Privateers begin the 2019-20 Southland Conference schedule in a rematch of last season's title game. Preseason favorite New Orleans welcomes No. 3 Abilene Christian December 18 at 7 p.m.
