Hammond, Louisiana-For the second consecutive game, junior center
Whitley Larry hit the game-winning shot in the final seconds, New Orleans got 35 points from the bench, led by guard
Dionjhae Thomas with 18 points, and the Privateers defeated Southeastern Louisiana in Hammond, 61-58.
Larry had only 8 points on the night but her last 4 tied the game and won it for UNO. Thomas, a sophomore from Thibodaux, Louisiana, hit her career-high in points going 5-of-7 from the floor and 7-of-10 from the free throw line. She also contributed 2 assists and 3 steals.
It was another milestone evening for senior
Shania Woods. After grabbing 10 rebounds, she moves into third place, all-time on the UNO rebounding list with 817, passing Dollene Magee (1981-85) who grabbed 814 during her career. The Houston, Texas native had 11 points to go with her 10 boards for her 11
th double-double of the season.
"It was a great road win! In this tough stretch of games with the standings being as close as they are, anytime we can be victorious on the road is huge," said head coach
Keeshawn Davenport. "We were amazingly persistent and it was just a great team win."

Dionjhae Thomas. I'm so proud of that young lady. She plays well at Southeastern because she had a breakout game here last year. She was big for us on the defensive end and she did a good job of scoring for us tonight. I'm super proud of her."
FIRST QUARTER
The Lady Lions scored the first 6 points of the game but New Orleans took its first lead at the 2:36 mark on a
Rehema Franklin jumper, 9-8. The Privateers led at the end of the first period, 12-9. New Orleans got six points from the starters and six points from the bench.
SECOND QUARTER
Southeastern won the period, 18-16, but the Privateers went into the break with a one-point, 28-27 advantage. UNO led throughout the second quarter, the largest lead being 6 points, three times, the last "half-dozen" lead came at 5:21 of the period when a
Shania Woods bucket made it 26-21. A Charliee Dugas (15 Points) basket at the 1:08 mark made it 28-27.
Dionjhae Thomas had 6 points in the quarter and was New Orleans' leading scorer at the half with 8.
THIRD QUARTER
There were four ties in the third quarter. SLU took the lead at 7:56 thanks to an Ashailee Brailee 3-pointer making it 32-31. New Orleans regained the lead and held it most of the quarter until a Celica Sterling trey made it 45-42, Lady Lions with :54 seconds to go. Southeastern canned two freebies to make it 47-43 at the end of three. New Orleans shot 3-of-12, 25% during the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
The home team's largest lead in the fourth was 5, 51-46 at the 6:56 mark. New Orleans pulled to within 1 on two occasions but with :53 second to go
Whitley Larry tied it at 58-58 with a jumper. 12 seconds later,
Rehema Franklin comes up with a steal, misses a layup, Larry gets the offensive board and knocks down the jump shot for what turned out to be the game-winner with :35 seconds to go. Larry, who had 4 blocks on the night, blocked a Caitlyn Williams attempt with :26 seconds to go. A Celica Sterling 3-pointer to tie was off with 10 seconds to go and the Privateers had their third road win of the season.
