Robinson Eclipses 1,000 Points, Myers Posts Double-Double in 82-74 Setback

NEW ORLEANS – New Orleans senior Bryson Robinson became the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club and first since 2017 (Christavious Gill), and Jahmel Myers posted his first double-double since last season's CIT game with a career-high 18 points and 12 rebounds in Wednesday's 82-74 loss to Northwestern State at Lakefront Arena.
Robinson drained a pair of free throws to reach the historic milestone and finished with 15 points and four assists. Myers added three assists and three steals. Jaylen Key and Gerrale Gates combined for 26 points and 11 rebounds.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • A 14-0 rally prior to the final media in regulation cut the deficit to nine.
  • The Privateers trailed by as much as 18, but a 12-0 run cut the deficit to single digits in a hurry.
  • Myers posted a game-high 12 points and team-high six rebounds in the opening half.
  • Lamont Berzat dished five assists.
 
OPPOSITION
  • The Demons shot 51.4 percent in the first half.
  • Chudier Bile led the squad with 20 points and Nikos Chougkaz added 13 points and 16 rebounds.
