NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The New Orleans women's basketball team suffered a 59-47 setback in a Southland conference defensive battle against first place Stephen F. Austin at the William R. Johnson Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Rehema Franklin led the offensive charge once again as the senior guard finished with a game-high 17 points to go with six rebounds and one assist. It is her 13th double-digit game of the season. She has now scored 17 or more points in four of her last five contests.
- Mia Deck recorded 12 points along with four rebounds, one block and one steal.
- Asia Woods contributed seven points, eight boards, two blocks and a steal.
- Whitley Larry registered two points, eight rebounds and two blocks.
- It was a defensive battle in the opening quarter as both teams were held to single-digits. SFA held an early one-point lead at 9-8 heading into the second.
- It was another offensive struggle in the second as SFA was able to put in 16 points while New Orleans was able to counter with 12 of their own as the Ladyjacks took a 25-20 lead into the half.
- SFA started to get it going a bit in the third as the period included a 10-0 run for the Ladyjacks. The Privateers forced SFA to go 0-7 during their last seven shot attempts however, as the Ladyjacks won the quarter by a 17-13 advantage to take a 42-33 lead into the fourth.
- SFA closed out the fourth to pick up the 59-47 victory.
FOR THE FOES
- Alyssa Mayfield led the Ladyjacks with 14 points. She also added three rebounds and one steal.
- Aaliyah Johnson posted 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting to go with three rebounds and two steals.
