LAFAYETTE, La. – The New Orleans Privateers fell victim to a 14-2 run at the end of the first half in a 64-45 loss to the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday afternoon at the Cajundome.

Brianna Ellis finished with 15 points including a perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line.
Jomyra Mathis battled through foul trouble as she finished with nine points. Ellis and
Majegane Barry co-led the team in rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
A defensive battle early on featured just 14 combined points in the opening stanza. New Orleans kept chipping away although they were behind for the entirety of the first half. A Mathis triple right under the five-minute mark brought New Orleans to within five at 22-17.
However, the Cajuns checked out with a 14-2 explosion over the remainder of the half. Louisiana went to the locker room with a 36-19 advantage as New Orleans was held to 21 percent from the field.
New Orleans turned up the pressure as an 8-0 run in the fourth quarter cut the home side's lead to 56-43. That was as close as the Privateers got. New Orleans was held scoreless for the remaining 3:34 of the contest.

The Privateers will head to Mobile to take on South Alabama. Tip is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23.
