Women's Tennis Sweeps Nicholls, Moves Conference Record to 8-1

NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team assumed control early and kept the pressure on throughout the afternoon in a 7-0 win over the Nicholls Colonels on Saturday afternoon at the University Tennis Center.

DOUBLES
The Privateers got the day started with a pair of convincing doubles wins. Ank Vullings and Lea Alguacil moved to 7-1 as a team at flight two when they won their match 6-0 to set up the first point of the day.

That was carried out at flight three when Salma Abdelrahim and Estelle Vanthier won 6-2. That marked the fifth consecutive match the Privateers won the doubles point.

SINGLES
The momentum continued into singles as the Privateers won all six matches. Five of those were decided in straight sets.

Lina Hohnhold continues to dominate this season as she was first off court with a 6-1, 6-1 win at flight two. She was followed by Anastasia Vaganova, who did not lose a game in the first set of her victory at flight four.
