NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Privateers battled against a tough opponent but were defeated 6-1 by the 37
th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns on Sunday at the University Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Privateers battled in doubles but the Cajuns were ultimately the victors of the first point of the day. Karlo Kajin and Al Sanchez Gonzalez scored a 6-1 win at flight one. Kacper Dworak and Calin Postea earned a 6-4 win at flight three.
Marcel Volz and
Espen Lagarde battled their opponents and were on serve at 4-4 in flight two.
In singles, the Cajuns put the first three points on the board that clinched the match. Postea earned a straight sets win at flight one while Orio Fillat Gimenez and Alejo Ferrer Chueca also scored straight set wins at flights three and six.
The Privateers took the next three matches to a third set which were all 10-point tiebreaks.
Max Heinzel scored the lone point for New Orleans when he won his tiebreak 10-7.
Luke Joujan and Volz both fought hard in their tiebreaks but were ultimately defeated 10-6 and 11-9 respectively to close out the day.

The Privateers are slated to host Charleston on Tuesday at 2 p.m.
