THIBODAUX, La. – The New Orleans Privateers women's tennis team got the proceedings wrapped up quickly, scoring the first four points in a 5-2 win against the Nicholls Colonels on Thursday afternoon in Thibodaux.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The day started with the Privateers winning the doubles point for the 12
th time this season.
Ank Vullings and
Lea Alguacil paired up for a decisive 6-2 win at flight two. After Nicholls won by the same score at flight one, the Privateers ultimately earned the point in the deciding doubles match.
Mar Gendra and
Estelle Vanthier, paired together for just the second time this season, moved to 2-0 when they won 6-3 at flight three.
In singles, the Privateers got several strong performances spread throughout the lineup.
Lina Hohnhold started it off as she was the first off court after her 12
th straight singles victory. Hohnhold won 6-0, 6-3 at flight two.
Gendra wrapped up her match at flight four with a 6-0, 6-2 win. The deciding point came from Vullings who only lost five games on her way to a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Salma Abdelrahim also picked up a point for the Privateers after winning 6-3, 6-4. It was the ninth win of the season for Abdelrahim.
The Colonels took the remaining two matches at flight three and six.

The Privateers will return home to face Southeastern on Saturday at 12 p.m.
